New Facility Updates

Thank you again for those who participated in our open meetings with the architect last month. The goal of those meetings was to gather as much input from the church as possible that would help the architect and our internal design team in setting the direction of our design efforts. In the past month we have been working hard with Neenan on developing the floorpan and the vision for renovating the facility. We are eager to share the results of those efforts with you soon.

In the meantime, here are the summaries from our open meetings. For those of you who weren’t able to join us, here are the three topics that were covered…

1. First, we simply asked people to answer the question “Who is Mountain View Community Church?”

2. Second, we showed a series of images that were grouped together by topics, such as building exterior, commons area, sanctuary seating, etc. We asked everyone to vote for which one they liked best. These images do not represent any specific design direction, but instead were to just present a variety of design possibilities to force us to think about what we like, don’t like, and why.

3. Third, we opened the floor for people to simply add items to a “wish list” of things they would like to see included in our new facility.

The two attached files provide a summary of this information. The first file summarizes items 1 and 3 above. As noted, many comments and items were repeated.

The second file summarizes item 2. The results show the total for all people who came to the meetings (roughly 150 people), not any individual meeting. Basic comments for each graphic are also summarized.
