Someone once wisely said, "The health of a church is not in its seating capacity, but in its sending capacity." The church needs to rediscover itself. Most Christians in American have a perspective of a successful church based primarily on size. Unfortunately, size rarely equates to health (although there are exceptions). Rather, the biblical picture of success and health is shown in a church that reproduces itself through the multiplication of followers, groups and churches (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; 14:19-23).
Mountain View Community Church (MVC) exists to make Christ known as we passionately love Him together. This is our desire, not only for the city of Fort Collins, but for our state, our country, and the whole world. We believe that God’s heart, as revealed through the Scriptures, has always been for the nations and that people everywhere would call on Him for salvation through Jesus Christ.
As Christians, our citizenship is in heaven (Phil 3:20-21). We long for the day when Jesus comes back and ushers in the fulness of His kingdom, which is our eternal home. In His kingdom, there will be no suffering, decay, sorrow, or death (Rev 21:4). No wonder the scripture refers to Christ's return as our "blessed hope" (Titus 2:13).
