Vision for Residency
The Mountain View Community Church Residency is a 14-month program designed to raise up the next generation of leaders to be equipped for a lifetime of fruitful, gospel-centered ministry in God’s kingdom. Since the birth of the church in 1993, Mountain View has had a passion to plant and support healthy, reproducing churches all over the world for the glory of God. By the grace of God, we now have a network of 20+ churches spread throughout the United States, Czech Republic, Nepal, and Mexico. God has entrusted us to train and disciple many future leaders who have grown into positions of significant leadership in both the church and the marketplace. This residency program is designed to help us raise up, equip, and send people to the world for the glory of God in greater ways.
The vision of MVCC is to be a multiplying church that reaches the city of Fort Collins, CO, and impacts the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are praying in faith that God would allow us to do three specific things in the years to come:
See every person at MVCC play an integral part in someone coming to faith in the next two years.
Raise up teams of leaders in every middle school, high school, and college dorm in Fort Collins.
Send out 10 church plant teams into new communities over the course of the next decade.
We believe that the MVCC Residents will play an integral role in the church seeing this vision come to fruition. Not only will they help the church work to this end, but we also desire to equip the residents to be leaders who impact the world for Christ, whether they pursue full-time ministry, help plant a church, or glorify the Lord in the marketplace.
Resident Roles and Responsibilities
Each resident will primarily be working in the context of a specific student ministry at MVCC (middle school, high school, college, international students). About 80 percent of their week will be within their context of ministry, pursuing those who do not yet have a relationship with Christ and discipling other students in their walk with Christ, teaching those students how to make disciples on their own.
The other 20 percent of their week will be dedicated to individual development, much of which will take place in a classroom setting. Each resident will be equipped and trained in Bible knowledge, theology, counseling, practical ministry, and character development.
Would You Consider Partnering With Us?
We are asking you to consider partnering with Mountain View Community Church in our investment of these residents. As you give resources to help fund a resident, you are not only investing in the person’s growth and development, but you are helping them reach students now who will help shape the future of our world for years to come.
